5MP2 Pacific National Steel Train With Bonus Containers: Drone Chase (7/3/2024) - PoathTV Railways
A Pacific National steel train with five NR class diesel locomotives makes its way towards Gheringhap loop. The train's loading has been built up with a large number of shipping containers, flatracks with re-bar rods and coiled wire, while the open wagons on the train are empty, having delivered steel products from Whyalla to Melbourne a few days earlier. The very last wagon is loaded with rail wheelsets.

Oh my god you have so many 7922V/7921V videos with at least a CLF, X31 or C501. When did you start recording these freights?
SCT have hired various vintage locos over the last few years, back in 2021 you could see CLF2, CLF4, C501 & T357 running on 7922v. And on one lucky day an 80 came out too! ruclips.net/video/MgvfYg2JkZw/видео.html

any reason why SCT is leasing locomotives..........
SCT don't currently own enough locos for all their motive power needs. It's not uncommon for operators to short term lease locos during periods of higher season needs - every Summer/Autumn the loading from Dooen triples which has seen 3 locos hired just for that service. SCT has expanded operations over the last few years and needs even more locos which is why they've just long term leased the next 6 Railfirst CF's which are currently under construction by UGL.

SUPERFREIGHT = A train type defined by ARTC as having maximum speed of 110 km/hour and maximum axle load of 21 tonnes. It is typically used for intermodal freight and is the basis for the Indicative Service defined in clause 4.6 of the ARTC's Interstate Access Undertaking

It's not a siding, the train is switching from the dual gauge track onto a dedicated broad gauge line for the rest of its journey.

Fantastic videos mate, great to see the workhorses of the V/line era (N classes) roaming the network more often back then, not all that much these days. Wonder how long it will be till we see one or more preserved with Steamrail, SRHC or 707. Has been interesting seeing 4 N's so far on BG SSR grain services, wonder if more will go soon
